Common questions
Notifications are not showing
Open iOS Settings, find the app, and confirm notifications are allowed. Bake schedules and starter reminders use local notifications for the actual alerts.
Apple Watch alerts
Apple Watch can mirror iPhone notifications when notification mirroring is enabled in the Watch app.
Dynamic Island or Lock Screen timer
Start a schedule from Guide or Timer. Live Activities show glanceable status, while local notifications remain the reliable reminder source.
Saved formulas
Save and load formulas from the Formula tab. Loading is blocked while a timer is running so the active schedule does not change by mistake.
Learning looks empty
Add starter peak logs and bake result logs. The app needs real entries before its timing estimates can become personal to your kitchen.
Timing feels off
Check dough temperature, room temperature, starter condition, fridge temperature, banneton type, and grain mix. Those values affect the estimate.
Rise & Grumble starter care
Starter progress is intentionally real-time. Feeding, checking, moving to the fridge, and warming the starter change the future curve while the log keeps past conditions intact.
Resetting Rise & Grumble
The reset button restarts the revive quest after a confirmation prompt, clears the local log, and returns the starter name to its default.
What to include in a support email
- Which app you are using: Sourdough Bulk Planner or Rise & Grumble.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- The screen you were using: Guide, Formula, Timer, Cold, Learn, Notes, Starter, Quest, Controls, or Logbook.
- Your loaf style or saved formula name.
- Room temp, dough temp, fridge temp, starter location, and planned cold proof hours if timing is involved.
- A screenshot if something looks wrong.
